Dr. Janani Ganapathi is a Bharatanatyam dancer whose initial training started at Shree Bharathalaya, Chennai under the guidance of Padmashri Prof. Sudharani Raghupathy. Her present Guru is Bharatha Kala Rathna Shri. A. Lakshman, one of the most sought-­?after Dance Gurus in Chennai, having produced high caliber students.

She has learned to dance in different styles: Tanjore, Pandanallur and Vazhuvur and has performed for numerous causes and at various occasions such as Natyanjalis, charity events, theme based events and festivals from her childhood. She has been very lucky to have had the opportunity to perform on numerous prestigious venues such as the International Labor Organization (ILO) Auditorium, temples of thousands of years old, famous dance Sabhas, etc. Dr. Ganapathi has often been praised for her clean footwork, elegance and energetic dancing by distinguished Chief Guests and Guests of Honor such as Shri. Nalli Kuppuswamy Chetty, Shri. Sirgazhi Siva Chidambaram, Bombay Sisters Smt. C. Saroja and C. Lalitha, etc. Today, she continues to perform in India, Europe and Australia. It is noteworthy to mention that Dr. Ganapathi has also performed Bharatanatyam in the presence of Premier of Queensland Annastascia Palaszczuk and Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan and other dignitaries on the occasion of the International Film Festival of Queensland (IIFOQ).

She believes that dance can be a bridge between cultures and communities. Through Bharatanatyam, she aims to spread the message of unity and peace. Not only that but she also believes in performing for events that contribute towards good causes. Moreover, dance is a form of prayer to Dr. Ganapathi, which enhances physical, mental and spiritual strength.
